5 Childhood Films You Should Show Your Children
These five childhood films should be in every family's collection. Mrs. Poppins, Annie, The Magic of Music, The Robinson Family of Switzerland and The Parenting Pitfall are all must-sees for kids. Share your memories and sing the songs you loved as a kid.
New movies are fantastic! It's so much fun standing in line at the movies, inhaling the buttery popcorn smell and getting giddy with excitement when a new movie is released.
My children love watching the latest and greatest movies, but I just grin when I hear my children singing the songs I used to sing as a kid - "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" or "Tomorrow". To my ears, hearing their little off-key renditions is the best music.
Have you shown your children the movies you liked when you were younger?
Robinson Family of Switzerland (1960)
The Robinsons become shipwrecked near an island. They construct a magnificent tree house through hard work and cooperation. They face many challenges, including wild animals, bad weather, and pirates, but their ingenuity gets them through. Excellent family values!
The Parenting Pitfall (1961)
Twin daughters are raised with only one parent knowing about the other. They unexpectedly run into each other at summer camp, put two and two together, and devise a plan to reunite their parents. This film is just plain entertaining.
Mrs. Poppins (1964)
Mr. and Mrs. Banks are both preoccupied with their own interests to the detriment of their children, Jane and Michael. When Mary Poppins, the magical nanny, enters their lives, she brings the family closer together. Your children will be captivated by the penguin scene, the chimney sweep dance, and the magic.
The Magic of Music (1965)
The hills are resonating with music. After your kids watch this, your house will be filled with the sound of music.
Annie (1982) (1982)
Annie, how we adore her! The music, the dancing, Mr. Warbucks' wealth, and a happy ending. That can't get any better than that!
These five films should be in every family's collection. Share your memories and sing the songs. It's fine if you sound a little off-key. I'm not going to tell.
